Psychoeducational Assessment

A psychoeducational assessment is an important tool in better understanding your child or adolescent's learning needs. These assessments help to establish developmental challenges, learning concerns and/or giftedness. Family and school input is obtained for accurate and inclusive observations and to develop a clear understanding of your child or teenage student.

Standardised psychometric tools recognised world-wide are administered to identify internationally recognised learning concerns. Learning concerns that we assess include: reading disorders, written language disorders, maths disorders,

and nonverbal learning disabilities.
Our comprehensive assessments create a learning profile for your child or adolescent and provide individual recommendations for school, home and ongoing therapy/intervention.

Additional educational assessment options include:

  • Access Arrangements/Accommodations - for students who have previously participated in a psychoeducational assessment (within 3 years) an assessment to provide recommendations to school boards for Access Arrangements and Accommodations for examinations.

  • Cognitive Assessment/IQ Test - this assessment is used to determine the learning capability of your child or adolescent by identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

Assessments can be performed in our office, at your child’s school (in collaboration with the school) or your home.
